Located southeast of San Jose, Tarrazu is known worldwide for being Costa Rica’s #1 coffee-growing region. The coffee plants of Tarrazu grow within small valleys that are hidden amongst Costa Rica’s highest mountain range, the Talamancas. The unique microclimates of these small valleys help produce arguably some of the best arabica coffee beans in the world.
Our long-standing relationships and fair compensation agreements with coffee farmers in Tarrazu allow us to purchase the region’s best beans, which are most commonly known for their supremely chocolaty flavor. For our Tarrazu blend, we medium roast the beans, allowing the caramelized sugars to rise to the surface to produce that wonderfully chocolate flavor and aroma. The resulting cup has a good body and a marked acidity with an overall flavor that is strong, unique, and delicious.
